✿ my first impressions of Yale ✿
➳ I got to Yale on Sunday, July 17. It was very hot outside. Since I had my suitcases with me, I ordered an Uber to take me to "Berkeley College", which is the dorm I am currently staying at.
➳ The people who helped me check in were very nice, and I took the Covid test they gave me. After it came out negative, I was led to my dorm.
➳ The dorms were nice, and even though I was expecting a roommate, I got a room for myself. The bad thing about the dorm though is the heat. It is so hot inside. Mainly in summer.
➳ Apart from that, the rest was great, and I went to buy my books for class in one of the beautiful libraries, and eat some food. I felt at ease. In Mexico, where I'm from, I am not used to walking by myself, because I always have a fear of something bad happening to me, but in New Haven, I felt peaceful.
➳ The architecture of Yale also caught my attention. I visited Yale a few months ago on a tour, but this program has helped me to see more of it, which I love. It feels very "classical".
➳ The people here are really nice as well. The counselors and my classmates were all really welcoming. That is something that made me feel instantly comfortable.
➳ Even the dining halls are really nice. They are very clean, the food is quite good, and they offer a variety of options that are healthy, but also some for those with a sweet tooth.
❂ As of right now, I really like Yale. From small things like the trees and nature, to the libraries and dining halls, Yale is filled with beautiful sights. I'm curious about what else is in store for me in the next three weeks.
I'll keep you updated.

After such a busy, hot and generally exhausting week, you and your friends will truly enjoy having the day away from classes on Friday and visiting the Outdoor Education Center, for swimming, boating and playing.
